After a long week a quick recipe comes in handy somewhere over the weekend. We are trying out Friday’s Facebook Quickie for our Facebook followers.
The photo, recipe and ingredients are posted right there. No searching a blog or having to jump to our recipes. We are keeping it simple with an easy, simple, delicious recipe to come in handy over the weekend.
This weekend we are doing Taco Zucchini Boats for the carb-conscious. Even if you aren’t counting carbs these are great for a quick meal or a great game day snack!

The screen shot shows that Walmart is the cheapest place for the items on my list. You can filter your favorite stores to keep it simple.
Basket is user friendly and has saved me a bunch of money. Here’s how it works- I make my grocery list and input the items into the app and it shows who has the item and how much it costs. It is particularly helpful for the short lists. One day I needed oil, baking soda and salt. I input the items and saved $6 by going to Walgreens for those items. I typically don’t think of Walgreens for those items but I will now if it’s saving me money.

I’m sure at one time or another you have come home from a busy day with no idea of what to make for dinner. Happens to me quite often but, sometimes no recipe can be the best recipe.
Check out this leftover, bbq rotisserie chicken pizza which turned out to be one of the best pizza’s I have ever had.
This was literally made from leftovers and whatever was in the refrigerator.
- rotisserie chicken
- bbq sauce
- onion rings
- chopped onion
- mozzarella cheese
- blue cheese dressing
- pizza dough from the bakery( I always keep one on hand as a go to)
My point being: get creative, let no food go to waste and stop stressing over that ”perfect” recipe.

Forget about having a dry turkey. A fail proof way to ensure a moist turkey is to soak the bird in the buttermilk.
Yep, soak that baby for 24 hours prior to brining and or roasting. Once roasting, baste every 40 minutes with melted butter. I use 3 – 4 pounds of butter! It’s all worth it. I haven’t made a dry turkey yet!
