It’s time to indulge in those delicious carmelized onions you find as key ingredients on the menu at restaurants everywhere.
Carmelized onions are simple; using 4 tbs butter, 2 1/2 lbs. sliced onion and thyme! Viola! Simmer in a covered pot for 10 minutes and continue to cook on low for 30 minutes stirring vigorously every 3 minutes. Voila! Super delicious carmelized onions to make restaurant quality burgers or gourmet pizzas. The onions will keep nicely in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. I prefer to use a glass mason jar for storage.
