If you have never eaten Ramen, you are missing the boat. Yes, it very cheap; typically $.50 to $1.00 depending where you shop.
But, I’m not talking about just eating Ramen. I’m talking about creating a Ramen dish to call your own. Let’s get extreme! Break out the spices, spiralized veggies, cheese and eggs for one damn good healthy meal.
The bowl shown below is simple veggies: spiral yellow zucchini, cucumber and carrots. Clearly, the veggies go on top of the dish. Don’t cook the veggies or they’ll get soggy.
Things start getting extreme by adding spices, a slice of American cheese and a cracked egg. Putting an egg in at the end of the cooking process while leaving the pot on the range gives the egg a chance to poach. Put the cheese on top right when serving. The cheese gets all gooey and delicious. I use Boars Head American. But try your favorite cheese. That’s the fun part of Ramen – you can customize the flavors to your liking.
Shown above is Ramen with egg, cheese and carrots. I held back on the broth for the purpose of the photo so you could see the egg and cheese.
