Do You Give a ****?

True story: My teenager is one of the pickiest eaters on the planet. She comes from a new generation of health conscious, clean, green eaters. I come from the Kool-Aid, meat and potatoes generation; I need to adapt. I need to adapt to a new way of cooking and eating. The journey is not an easy one. It’s almost like learning a new language. In an effort to “bond” with my daughter and empower her to learn how to cook I told her to pick out any cookbook SHE was interested in and we would make something. Low and behold, she came up with Thug Kitchen – eat like you give a f*ck. I can totally see the allure of this book for a teenager. It looks cool, right? If I were a teenager, I would probably choose this as well. But, let me tell you, this book is by far one of the best books I have purchased in a long time. If you are looking for delicious, healthy recipes this is the book for you.
The photographs are fantastic and the recipes are pretty simple. There is a recipe for Sourdough French Toast which is amazing. The oh so simple recipe for Ginger-Mushroom Summer Rolls is a home run. There are many more delicious recipes. But, PARENTAL WARNING: Profanity is used throughout this book. So, unless you are liberal and don’t mind a few inappropriate words, don’t purchase this book. However, the words used are nothing they haven’t heard at school or on-line. It’s obviously your call. Either way, I love this book and will continue to use it on a regular basis. Enjoy! Thug Kitchen: The Official Cookbook: Eat Like You Give a F*ck

  1. Hello. Enjoyed this as I do have a very picky 12 year old daughter. This would probably be the book she would choose. Maybe I should buy it too. It might get her interested in cooking. Thank you for sharing.
